Advantage Computing Systems/Palm Coast Data Partnership Offers Best of Both Worlds

Leading in-house software now available to service bureau customers

ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN - October 13, 2005 - Advantage Computing Systems (ACS) and Palm Coast Data (PCD) announced they are joining forces to provide publishers and membership organizations the opportunity to combine customized CRM (customer relationship management) fulfillment software with service bureau support services.
Previously only available to in-house publishers, the ACS software allows marketers to combine multiple products and services on a single database, enhancing their ability to analyze customers across products and improve cross marketing. Palm Coast Data has been providing fulfillment services to many of the nation’s leading publishers for more than 20 years. PCD and ACS have been working together since 1999 providing services to selected clients.
“Before making this arrangement, we evaluated service bureaus,” explains Sam Williamson, Executive Vice President at ACS, “and we chose to partner with Palm Coast Data because of the quality of their basic services and commitment to providing clients with advanced marketing tools. ACS and PCD are ushering in a new era where service bureaus and in-house systems can work together, as opposed to just competing with each other for business.”
“The Advantage system provides the scope and flexibility of service that multi-title publishers have indicated they need to improve their marketing efforts in a tough environment,” said Jim Patterson, Chief Operating Officer at PCD. “Further, the customer centric design of the system will support our joint expansion into the membership/association fulfillment market.”
Publishers currently using Advantage include TV Guide Magazine Group, Crain Communications, The Taunton Press, Oxford University Press, Hearst Business Media, The American Medical Association, The McGraw-Hill Companies, and Weekly Reader Corporation.
Palm Coast Data has been providing fulfillment solutions since 1984. Palm Coast Data, located in the Florida city of Palm Coast, is one of the largest fulfillment providers in the United States. The bulk of the company’s business comes from the publishing industry, with a smaller share coming from membership organizations and product marketers.
Allied Capital, a private equity investor, has partnered with the management of Palm Coast Data to provide the financial resources ensuring the fulfillment company’s continued long-term growth.
