In 1984, Family Media, publisher of Ladies Home Journal and several other magazines, founded Palm Coast Data after determining that its titles could support their own in-house fulfillment operation.

The owners chose Palm Coast, in Florida’s Flagler County as the location to establish the company for several reasons. Palm Coast is just seventy miles from Jacksonville and Orlando, two of Florida’s principal metropolitan areas. Both cities have major airports making travel in and out of the area convenient.

Moreover, Jacksonville is home to one of the 21 Bulk Mail Centers in the United States Postal Services’ National Bulk Mail System. Such proximity to a Bulk Mail Center would save money through lower postage costs as well as speed mail delivery.
In 1985, Palm Coast Data’s twenty employees moved into the company’s newly constructed 35,000 square foot facility. One year later, the company lost a substantial portion of its business when Family Media sold The Ladies Home Journal. This loss of business made it crucial for Palm Coast Data to now contract with other publishers.
Over time, Palm Coast Data has had several owners and experienced other challenges, but through it all has continued to prosper and uphold service levels to the highest of standards.
As the company has grown, so has its need for more space, resources and personnel. Palm Coast Data has undergone a number of major construction projects, building acquisitions, and land purchases in the last 20 years. We are now housed in over 180,000 square feet and have acquired an additional 12 acres of land adjacent to our facilities. We have expanded from the original 20 employees to over 950 by the end of 2004.
Today, Palm Coast Data is one of the leading fulfillment companies in the United States serving over 50 clients and over 300 memberships, products and publications.
